Redevelopment of a key gateway town centre brownfield site to create a mixed use scheme comprising Residential, Youth Enterprise Centre and Educational facilities for Coleg Llandrillo.

The aim of the project was to create a centre that will provide support to young people in general at risk of under achieving in life, particularly in learning, skills development and securing future employment.

The scheme includes:-

A supported housing project for 16-25 year olds providing 6 onsite self-contained apartments.

A Youth Enterprise Centre covering the age ranges of 11 – 25 and providing vocational skills, access to appropriate advisory business, counselling and mentoring support, formal and informal learning facilities as well as providing a gateway to other youth services.

On site educational space for Coleg Llandrillo was incorporated into the scheme, in order to help encourage and inspire people into further education.

Sustainability Features including: Recyclable materials, solar power, grey water recycling, high levels of insulation, high levels of natural daylighting, energy efficient Mechanical and Electrical services.

Hwb won a Welsh Regional RIBA Award.

April 2015: Hwb wins a UK Housing Award; Outstanding Development of the Year.
