The West Kirby URC Church Re-ordering

West Kirby Church

Opens with a week of ‘New Beginnings’ events to celebrate the re-ordering of the buildings.

JMA have been working with the Church over the last couple of years on significant developments to enable West Kirby URC’s buildings to express the members’ vision of being a relevant, welcoming church that serves the community. We designed a new glazed entrance to lead into an open lounge area with kitchen, quiet room and creche. A glazed screen divides the lounge from the main worship area where chairs have replaced pews, the stage area has been modernised and the balcony above the lounge developed. A large entrance to the halls has been created, including an accessible office.

With the building contractor, Lockwood Construction, having almost finished the works the Church hosted a week of New Beginnings! celebratory events from 16-25 September to welcome the whole community to visit the reordered buildings!

View the programme for the week, including a flower festival (17-18 Sept) and family fun day (24 Sept) here on the Church web site. The new Church Worship space is flexible enough to even include a large bouncy castle (pictured above) for the ‘fun day’.

We are delighted to have been part of the re-ordering process, altering the existing buildings to suit the current needs of the Church and the wider community. We have been careful to respect the fine existing building, while inserting modern elements into it and altering the interior design to suit in a sensitive and positive manner.
