When the shopfitters Charles Evans decided to move to a new site in Speke they asked us to look at designing them new premises which would suit their working practices and provide much better office and supervisory accommodation on the new location.
Consequently the building is designed to maximise efficiency in every respect, providing good access for staff, visitors, deliveries and dispatched fabricated items. Quality control was a major issue which we worked to address, ensuring that the workshop workflow would enhance the quality of the output from the business. Charles Evans are known for their quality of output, so this was a vital feature of the new building.
The office accommodation and ‘front of house’ reception was also designed to showcase the quality of work that can be carried out by the shopfitting department. oversight of the workshop from the offices and drawing office was also felt to be beneficial to enhance relationships within the business and to ensure connectivity between the departments.
