Amblecote Gardens – Interior Design Scheme

Amblecote Gardens is City West Housing Trust’s new Extra Care facility, which has been designed to become a focal point for the surrounding community in which we are also delivering 89 new homes on the Mount Skip and Kenyon Gateway estates.

Client: City West Housing Trust

Value: £150,000

Completed: September 2014

Location: Little Hulton, Salford

We have created a fresh and uplifting interior scheme to make this state-of-the-art facility a desirable and attractive place where older people want to live. We are aware that good interior design plays a significant part in attracting new residents and improving their quality of life through appropriate finishes, lighting and furnishings such as:

  • Provision of navigational clues around the building including significant pieces of artwork to help orientation for residents
  • Design of different themes to each wing and/or floor level to aid orientation
  • Provision of neighbourly clusters of furniture on the main landings and corridors and well as in the snug and lounge areas
  • Selection of smart, contemporary furnishings to create a bright, domestic, stylish lounges and activity areas
  • Consultation on artwork, internal signage, plants, furniture and soft furnishings installation as well as sculptures and wall art

We have worked collaboratively with both the Main Contractor, Bardsley Construction, and the Lead Designer, DK Architects, to deliver this internal fit out on time and on budget.
